4. Children and Young People
Many of our players are children, so we take extra care with their personal information. This section explains how we handle data about children and young people, on our website and in the MyWolves app.
Registering a child
- Players under 16 must be registered by a parent or guardian through the parent or guardian's own MyWolves account.
- Children under 16 do not have their own login. Their parent or guardian manages their details and sees their games, training, attendance and payments.
- Players aged 16 and over may hold their own MyWolves account.
Information we hold about a child
- Name, date of birth and gender.
- Basketball Scotland membership number and passport-issuing country, where needed for competition registration.
- Teams, attendance at games and training, kit sizes and shirt number.
- An emergency contact.
- Medical information, if voluntarily provided by the parent or guardian.
By default, messages about a child under 16 go to the parent or guardian's email address.
How we use a child's data
Children's data is used only to run the club: to place them in the right team and age group, organise training and games, register them with Basketball Scotland, meet our safeguarding duties and contact the right person in an emergency. Medical information is shared only with the coaches and club officials who need it to keep the child safe. We never sell a child's data, use it for advertising or use it to build profiles.
The MyWolves mobile app
- Accounts are created through the club. There is no sign-up in the app, and children under 16 must use their parent or guardian's account to access events and attendance.
- The app has no advertising, in-app purchases, chat or messaging, or public profiles.
- The app contains no analytics or tracking tools and does not track users across other apps or websites.
- The app does not access your location, camera, photos, contacts or microphone.
- If you turn on notifications, we store a device token so we can send you club notifications, such as game reminders and training changes. If not delivered by the local notifications system on your device, these are delivered by Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM). The FCM token is not used for anything else.
- Your sign-in is stored securely on your device and removed when you sign out.
