Our Teams and Training page gives you information on our training programmes at West Lothian Wolves. We welcome new players and ask that you drop us a a message on our home page, contact us form, before attending to help us prepare our training sessions or for the performance squads, align you with the best group for your ability.
Under 10s
Friday 18:00-19:30 West Calder High School
The aim of under 10s basketball is to introduce boys and girls to basketball and gain the fundamental skills, knowledge and fitness to enjoy playing the game.
Our sessions are structured to learn and play while having fun.
There are occasions throughout the year for the older players in the group to play against other teams, usually at the weekend and fairly local, however we also incorporate gameplay as part of our training sessions.
Under 12 Boys
Mon & Wed 18:00-19:30 James Young High School
The aim of under 12s boys basketball is to further develop the skills, knowledge and fitness attained in under 10s and offer the boys the opportunity to play more regular games.
Our twice weekly training sessions look at more advanced skills, game play strategies and more intensive fitness drills.
Want to join in? We ask that you have played basketball in school or elsewhere so you are not starting from scratch.
Under 12 Girls
Tue & Thu 18:00-19:30 St Margaret's Academy
The aim of under 12s girls basketball is to further develop the skills, knowledge and fitness attained in under 10s and offer the opportunity to play more regular games.
Our twice weekly training sessions look at more advanced skills, game play strategies and more intensive fitness drills.
Want to join in? Experience of playing basketball is advantageous however beginners are also welcome. All we ask is a good attitude and a willingness to work hard and learn. Contact us for an invite to an initial session with the wolfpack!
Under 14 Boys

This performance squad gives players opportunities to participate in the SBC league and play against some of the best players in the country. Twice weekly training sessions are designed to improve player skill, IQ and performance whilst challenging players to work hard, learn and maintain a positive attitude. We have a strong focus towards teamwork, fundamentals and playing competitively for players to enjoy and achieve their basketball goals. We also have 2 teams participating in the We Play Together local league to give players opportunities to play games, develop skills and have fun.

Under 16 Women
Mon & Thu 20:00 - 21:45 Blackburn Primary School
This a performance based team with the training aimed at girls in the U14/15/16 bracket who will play in National League Division 1 which is the top competitive league in Scotland
Our twice weekly trainings are designed to improve the skill level to prepare players who transition from U14s to U16s due to the differences in the standards of the league to be able to further develop their game, skills, teamwork and fundamentals whilst adding elements of fun to continue the love of basketball.

Under 18 Women

This a performance based team with the training aimed at girls in the U17/U18 age bracket who will play in National League Division 1 which is the top competitive league in Scotland

Senior Men
Tue & Thu 19:30-21:00 West Calder High School
The Wolves SM programme consists of our performance and development players who compete in the Scottish National League(SBC) and in the Lothian League, with an intensive game schedule requiring a lot of commitment. Our twice weekly training sessions look at game based principles, preparation, and individual skill development. The sessions demand a high level of fitness, work rate, and concentration.
We are only taking players on an invite only basis, but do get in touch if you think you have the level required.
Senior Women

This a performance based team with the training aimed at females in the +18 age bracket who will play in National League Division 1 which is the top competitive league in Scotland
Our twice weekly trainings are designed to improve the skill level, team work and love of basketball while maintaining a fun element
Social Adults
Training: Friday 19:30-21:00 West Calder High School
Our social basketball is a get together of men and women players to play social basketball with a focus on enjoyment. It is open to club members or prospective members whether past players or someone who wants take up basketball and improve their skills and well-being.
